To confirm
The lagoon is a sheet of pale green water enclosed by mangrove, off the village of Del Carmen. You come by boat, and the water is calm because the reef breaks the swell further out — it is a pool, not a sea.
In the middle, a bamboo platform carries a diving board and kayaks for hire. A paddleboard is the right way to see the bottom: it barely drops to three metres and the water is clear.
Getting there
An hour by road from General Luna to Del Carmen port, then forty-five minutes by boat. The boat is shared: it is hired by the day, not by the seat.
What the price covers
paid lagoon entry and a boat from Del Carmen; rates to be confirmed
What to bring
- Reef shoes
- Windbreaker
- Swimsuit
- Dry bag
Rules on site
Entry fees and the boat are paid in cash at the port; there is no cash machine in Del Carmen. The trip is cancelled in strong wind, and the call is made on the morning itself.
