Petronas and KL Tower
The city's two viewpoints. The best framing of the twin towers is from the KL Tower, not from the towers themselves.
Duration
2 hrs – 3 hrs
Best time
An hour before sunset
Open
Petronas closed on Mondays, except the 2nd, 4th and 5th of the month
Entry price
127 MYR
Two viewpoints, and they do not show the same thing. The KL Tower is a four-hundred-and-twenty-one-metre telecoms tower set on a wooded hill: its deck is higher than the Petronas one, and it is where you photograph the twin towers whole.
From the Petronas you get the city but not the towers — you are inside them. If you only do one, the KL Tower gives the better picture; if you want to walk the skybridge, it is the Petronas.
Getting there
KL Tower: free shuttle from the Jalan Punchak gatehouse — walking up the road is steep and has no pavement. Petronas: LRT to KLCC.
Hours
Tuesday to Sunday 9am – 10.30pm, last admission 9.30pm
What the price covers
skybridge and observation deck of the Petronas Towers, foreign visitor aged 13 to 60 on a weekday; RM 137 at weekends, RM 65 for ages 2 to 12, free under 2. The KL Tower ticket is sold separately by another operator, and its price could not be confirmed at source.
Rules on site
Both ticket desks sell several levels at the same counter: check you are buying the open-air deck and not just the revolving restaurant.
