Reunification Palace
The South Vietnamese presidential palace, frozen at 30 April 1975, when a tank drove through its gates.

Every day
Entry price
40000 VND
The palace was rebuilt in 1966 after the previous one was bombed, and it has stayed exactly as it was on 30 April 1975, when North Vietnamese tank 843 drove through its gates — the image that closed the war. Both tanks are on the lawn.
Inside is an intact 1960s interior: reception rooms, the presidential office, a cinema. The basement is more interesting than the upper floors: a command bunker with its wall maps, period radios and concrete corridors.
Getting there
At the end of Le Duan street, District 1, ten minutes on foot from the cathedral and the central post office.
Hours
8am – 4.30pm, every day
What the price covers
entry, all visitors
Rules on site
The palace sometimes closes without notice for an official function. The basement is narrow and poorly ventilated: see it first, before the groups arrive.
