Open

Entry price
179 AED
The tower is eight hundred and twenty-eight metres tall with a hundred and sixty-three floors. Its Y-shape is not decorative: it stiffens the structure against wind, and each setback breaks up the vortices that would make a straight shaft sway. The concrete was poured at night, with ice in the mix, so it would set despite the heat.
The At the Top decks are on the 124th and 125th floors, at four hundred and fifty metres. The 148th, much higher and much dearer, is sold separately. The cheapest viewpoint is still a café terrace in the Dubai Mall below, facing the fountain.
Getting there
Metro red line, Burj Khalifa - Dubai Mall station, then a ten-minute walkway. The entrance is on the mall's lower level.
What the price covers

Rules on site
Sunset slots cost nearly double and sell days ahead; the ticket bought on the door is the dearest of all. Sand haze often cuts visibility to a few hundred metres, with no refund.
