The statues are outdoors and cost nothing. Many pay for the museum without knowing that the Botero room inside bans photographs — while the square allows them.

The metro and then the cable car go up for the price of one ticket. A guide is not compulsory, but here it changes everything: these are residents telling what they lived through, and forty thousand pesos go straight to them.

35000 COP≈ 10.6 $740 steps up a granite fissure, and a lake cut into fjords as the reward. Two hours' drive from the city.
Get off at the Piedra stop, climb the steps first, then cover the three kilometres to the village by tuk-tuk for a few thousand pesos. The other way round you start seven hundred and forty steps having already walked, and it is a different day entirely.
