To confirm

Koh Phi Phi Don is two masses of limestone joined by a sand isthmus a few hundred metres across, on which the whole village sits. It is the most recognisable shape in the Andaman Sea, and it only makes sense from above.

Three stepped platforms overlook the isthmus, reached by a concrete stairway of some four hundred steps. The climb takes twenty to thirty minutes, with no shade near the top, and the access fee is collected halfway.

Getting there

The path starts east of Tonsai village, behind the school. The stairway is signposted and done entirely on foot.

What the price covers

access fee charged on the private path, rate to be checked on site

Rules on site

No shade for the last two thirds and the steps are high: avoid between eleven and three. Carry more water than you think.
