The path follows six kilometres of sandstone cliff between Bondi and Coogee, through Tamarama, Bronte and Clovelly. It is fully made up, presents no difficulty, and climbs and drops constantly.
Its interest lies in the sea pools cut into the rock at the water's edge: Bondi Icebergs, Bronte Baths, Wylie's Baths. These are public baths filled by the waves, an Australian tradition born of necessity — swimming safely where currents and sharks made the open sea risky.
Getting there
Bus 333 from the city to Bondi Beach; the path starts at the southern end of the sand. Bus back from Coogee.
What to bring
- Walking shoes
- 1.5 L of water

Rules on site
There is no shade on the route and the Australian sun is severe: hat, sunscreen and water, even under cloud. The sea pools close for cleaning one day a week, varying by pool.
