Cayenne, Rémire-Montjoly and Kourou are the main coastal bases. The forest, Kaw marshes, Salvation Islands and the space centre each need a separate day.
A car is almost essential outside the centre. Dugout-canoe and boat trips cost more, while several coastal trails remain free.
The rainy season changes journey times and trail access. Space-centre visits and some nature trips must be booked ahead.
